I think the key to success in 2007 was 'positivity'. Predominantly due to focussing on the environment vegan campaigners were encouraging people to "do something" rather than Stop doing something.
The presentation of solutions rather than orders to stop, don't, no, against, anti, is reaching a whole new audience.
